Sky City Casino in Auckland, New Zealand, recently took delivery of a new Foreground music system. As the premier entertainment centre in Auckland, Skycity Auckland has music covering its casino, 4+ star hotel and sky tower.

The new sound system was to provide loud, even coverage of the new Level 3 Casino area. David Fuller, the Casino Manager wanted a nightclub feel on the gaming floor. “ We are appealing to a more youthful clientele and also wanted to use the live DJ feed from Bar 3 at the weekends to create a more involving gaming environment”

The new sound system supplied through Jands Electronics New Zealand consists of 1 BSS Soundweb 9088MM, a 9000 hub and one 9010 ‘Jellyfish’ remotes. Amplification is provided by 3 Crown CTs 2000 amplifiers using PIP Lite cards and running Crown  IQ Software.

As part of the install, 6 JBL Control 29Av speakers and 16 JBL Control 25Av speakers were installed down each side of the gaming floor, with a SB210 Sub bass at each end of the gaming area.

A jellyfish remote control was installed in the Casino Managers office, which allows access to the existing 12 Sky radio music sources, as well as a local CD and paging microphone. Presets have been set up for various times of the day, and to route the DJ feed to the gaming floor.

The System was installed by Home Automation Specialists (Auckland) Ltd with technical support from Jands (NZ) technical resource Group.
