Mainz takes delivery of JBL SRX Speakers

The Equipment was supplied through Jands Electronics New Zealand and consisted of 4 JBL SRX 4733 Full Range speakers, 4 JBL SRX 4719 sub-bass speakers. Amplification is provided by QSC PLX 2402 and 3402 amplifiers. Speaker management is taken care of with a BSS 336 Minidrive controller.

The sound system will be used in their Live Sound Auditorium for every day practical use. A single SRX4733 and 4719 is used a side. For outside events and bigger venues, the system can be supplemented with the remainder speaker boxes and amplifiers.

Rob Birch from Jands Technical resource group visited MAINZ and tuned the new system using SIA Smart Live software. Tony Mcmaster from Mainz is very pleased with the results. “Being able to have custom tunings for the different speaker configurations we use now means it is much easier for students to achieve a more consistent sound at events and concentrate on mixing instead of speaker tuning issues.”

The sound system will get a lot of use on events ranging from the Chinese Lantern Festival in Auckland’s Albert Park to the Pasifika Festival in Western Springs. MAINZ Live Sound students will be providing production for the CokeSmokefreeRockquest events in the Upper North Island.
